TWO big names in education

Join Katie McKnight, Ph.D. AND Alex Kajitani for
research-based professional development that you can really use!

Create a comprehensive literacy program to advance student literacy skills –
and give your teachers the tools they need to achieve it.

Need help taking full advantage of your school’s resources, including Striving Readers grants?  Because these two educators began as inner-city classroom teachers – and still spend many weeks each year with grade 4–12 students – they are often praised for their engaging, down-to-earth presentations and their focus on practicality. (Really, what good is an influx of resources if you don’t have a plan? What good is information if teachers don’t understand it or can’t use it?) But don’t let the fact that they’re relatable obscure their remarkable achievements! Kajitani and McKnight have been recognized with many teaching awards and regularly present at the most popular and prestigious educational conferences. Both are renowned authors who routinely publish in professional journals and, between them, have over twenty books in print. They are passionate about empowering teachers and helping schools utilize all their assets, so that all students can achieve their very best.

Katherine McKnight, Ph.D. currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Research at National Louis University. Her affable presentation style and her work on creative learning, differentiated literacy instruction, student assessment, and literacy in the content areas, have earned her praise from teaching colleagues in the U.S. and internationally. Katie has a 100% success rate with her collaborative Literacy and Learning Center model, which has turned around struggling schools by enabling teachers to cover more content and skill development in less time, devote more personalized attention to students who need it, and help all students focus on challenging, developmentally-appropriate tasks. She is the founder of Engaging Learners, a source for lessons that have been specifically adapted to the Literacy & Learning Center model. Learn more at www.katherinemcknight.com.
