We help schools create a literacy plan that takes advantage of all their
Resources – including Striving Readers grants.

We show teachers how to get students reading and writing at every level

In order to best address the needs of students, we embrace the research and evidence-based practices in the development of literacy skills for college and career readiness in all content areas/disciplines.

Because our passion and experience is with underachieving schools, we are uniquely qualified to help teachers meet the needs of their struggling and reluctant grade 4–12 students, as well as their “on level” and gifted peers.

Our professional development is based on the most widely recognized and accepted research from the National Council of Teachers of English, The National Center for English Learning Achievement,  National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, International Reading Association and individual state educational standards.

We provide comprehensive solutions and professional learning services to assist educators with the implementation of a strategic reading and literacy program for all grades, especially middle schools and high schools.

Specifically, participants in our professional development will:

  • Describe the characteristics of balanced literacy using language they are already familiar with.

  • Effectively integrate core reading and writing strategies for the development of skills and content knowledge.

  • Identify evidence that supports balanced literacy.

  • Plan appropriate scaffolding for reading and writing strategies within discipline/content instruction.

  • Build confidence and promote growth mindset for learners.

  • Facilitate and plan Literacy and Learning Center activities that address individual student skill needs
    and develop content/discipline knowledge.

  • Use data to differentiate and plan for individual learner’s needs and to monitor student growth.
